The Shroud That Shows

The Shroud That Shows

I will meet you past twilight's last gleaming,
Where bliss is but a memory away,
And our embrace halts the tears streaming
In night's refuge until the break of day.

You will be mine and yours I'll ever be,
Each night as our souls once again,
Dance in joyous love beside the sea
Where love is far greater than the pain.

The veil is lifted each night on that shore,
Where angels protect a perfect love,
And we walk on sand like once before,
But our time is borrowed from above.

It is a gift of pure love that He bestows,
Where love was so true in His eyes,
That His angels lift the shroud that shows
Where every soul goes but never dies.
