Many people put on different masks while going through there life. They never want to take it off to allow someone inside. They do not want anyone to see the real person that lies just below the surface. The real you. The real me. They are not sure they will be accepted as they are. They shield themselves from everyone to block out the pain. They want to be exactly what others want in order to fit into this world. At least that is what i thought i had to do. I wanted my foster parents to want me to keep me for their very own. Yet they did not want me. I wanted my husband to love me unconditionally he did for many years. I use to let fear guide my life. I use to let it guide my steps. I was afraid no one would like the real me. A while ago i removed my mask to allow others in. I since have seen my life grow in ways i could never of planned. I have learned what it is like to have a loyal friend. I have searched for and God found me a christian family who only want to be there for me in all times. Who consider it a blessing to be my support. That is why i put my life in GOD'S hands. He is my Father. He is my Redeemer. He is my guiding light. I want only to be translucent translucent that others can see Christ through me.
Adjhe, this is lovely and so true, it is very sad for people that go through that, they can never truly be happy unless they are happy with themselves and relieve themselves from that mask, a great weight lifted. I agree in having faith in God, it makes the sad and hard times easier to accept
Hi, adjhe, They do not want anyone to see the real person... Whether the verb is want or allow, the result of the mask is the same, the true person remains unknown. Being True To One's Self is, perhaps, the best one can strive for in life. Thanks for sharing.
gnj4u thank you for the comment. I am performing this friday(spoken word) to the song a long walk. You r so correct no one wants to see the real you if you do not open that curtain.

Nice writte adj, with a very clear and positive message. I reckon masks are not worth it, life is too short to waste time. And btw, nice to read you again :)
A sense of freedom finally adjhe.. There are times in our lives we feel we need to keep a facade... It has taken me years to chipped away from it... Just like you... I realise I am not the pilot but my God...life's so much lighter n brighter that way...
