When I heard you'd been found,
a strange sensation long forgotten,
welled up within my soul,
and the memories came haunting me,
like whispers on the wind,
calling your name.....
the anguish, the pain,
and the deep burning intense love,
came forth as strong as it had been,
those many long years ago.

I've sought you for so long,
never having even a hint,
or a clue as to where you'd gone,
where you'd been, why you'd left,
without so much as a parting word,
or glance or even a gentle whisper.

My heart cried for you,
mourned and pined for you,
called out for you,
and has wept bitterly for you,
all these years.
I've caught my soul many times,
still weeping, still calling out for you,
still begging for your return,
still praying for relief from it agony.

And finally here we are once again,
so close, like the gossamer strands of the dream,
just inches away from reality,
inches away from a dream come true,
inches away from a nightmare,

Here we are, like familiar strangers,
the passion still burning strong,
the love still bitterly intense,
stayed not by the lack of desire
but rather by fear,
the fear of taking that chance,
to allow love to have it's way once again,
where do we go from here after all this time,
are we still just walking on the edge of a dream,
or will that dream finally become reality?
