northwoods serenity

The sun falls
as night rolls in
the sound of a loon's cry
is carried on the wind

The moonlight dances,
on waves that crash on shore
slowly calming
till the wind blows no more

You can count the stars
reflecting off a surface of glass
or just lay back
and watch the lightning bugs pass

late at night
where there's only me
with the sights and sounds
of northwoods serenity
