Looking Back

I feel the wind as it gently touches my face

I look out past the emerald green

Into the horizon of nothingness

The smell of the salt air

I bask in the familiars of this place

Visions of me playing as a child

Without a care

Of times I ran by the shore

I am as much a part of this as the sand

I run no more

For I am free

Like the sea

About this poem:
I love the water and how it makes me feel. When I was young I rushed thru life. Now I savor it. Even my times standing by the sea is different.

NeverEndingStory
We learn as we go through life and change within ourselves. As a child everything is just so carefree. I find I appreciate a lot more as I've got older. Friends and trustworthy people especially because they are so rare. Thanks for sharing teddybear

"I am as much a part of this as the sand", lovely phrase, your poem reminds me of a gem of a book, called? Beachcombing on Miramar, I highly recommend it..., nice thanks..., I also must have the sea by me at all times...
