Lines From A Lonely Place.

Hark ! In the distance, a begrudging sneer,
A prying eye spies my falling tear,
Crashing on the page, this verse to smear,
If only they knew my plight !

In this wretched space so lost and alone,
Soft heart transformend to hardened stone,
A seeping wound much deeper than bone,
Draining my will to fight !

My head bent low with dolor profound,
Scolding tears to stain the ground,
Nature my second love, gathers around,
I could kiss a tree this night !

For now, love's future destitute,
Sympathetic gestures I will refute,
Thoughts of her, this pain dilute,
Pitch darkness with a sprinkle of bright !

Just take me away to a tearful place,
'Neath a willow to share her weeping space,
Whose drooping limbs will me encase,
And hide my grief from sight !

A loveless mess, I fall distraught,
No lesson learned, yet harshly taught,
For her I'd once again get caught,
I hold not grudge nor spite !

I know I'll quell this relentless pain,
Self pity to hold no earthly gain,
My self belief I pray regain,
God please ! Send me some respite !

I know it is a sad poem but it is a very clever format you have used. Well done you and yes glad you are sorted too. Best way to get something out of your system is to write it down I think. then we can look back and see how far we have travelled.peace

Hi, Mizzy4,
God please ! Send me some respite ! Ask, and it shall be answered. Thanks for sharing these poignant Lines From A Lonely Place. that contain Pitch darkness with a sprinkle of bright ! The loving relationship with nature, exemplified by Whose drooping limbs will me encase, is a strong one.

Dear Mick,
I'm speechless!! You are up there with the greats no mistake - Byron, Keats, Wordworth to name just a couple of my favourite romantic poets.

I think most poets write their best work having been through the agony of loss - not many of us leave this world not having been in that sad place.

There would be a great dark cloud over this corner - if ever you were to leave.
