Haunting Thoughts

Witches on the wall
White headed grinning demon stooping over a chopping block
Chopped off heads in various stages of decomposition
Sister chopped into cubes by my angry father
If you don't shut up this will happen to you
Screams of agony in pitch black darkness
Trapped in hell
No hope to escape
Fathering a daughter I have to raise at home
It's your turn to change the diaper
Iraq
St. Louis police
Chimpanzee in a zoo
Robin Williams hanging from a door
These haunting thoughts
They occupy my dreams
They occupy my reality
I think it's time to day dream
Dream of something far happier
Far more peaceful
To go to a place where there is really love

If you don't shut up this will happen to you is a chilling statement for anyone to make to another under any circumstances; but these are certainly Haunting Thoughts. I agree with the narrator, I think it's time to day dream Dream of something far happier. I hold onto the belief that there is more goodness in the world...we just have to get past the media to find it.

Mcradloft, this write was deep and telling of our insanity in a world out of control that we cope with daily. Dark poetry has a place and should be written to remind us and warn us.

"To go to a place where there is really love" I don't know where that is, except within us.
