in the solstice of the winter sun the old fella seeks what's known refuge from the morning glum a place to warm his bones his verandah lay open there for all who do pass by i'm sure if you'd stopped to share his words would never run dry a steaming mug of brew resides by his side as he settles in his pew with a smile he cannot hide no more does he worry no more does he care no more does he hurry his time is now his share a lifetime of early morns working hard every day a lifetime of beautiful dawns to help him on his way he's earned his place in the sun amidst the tar and cane and wallows in his daily fun for time is now his gain........
