Common.........
I am just a common man with not much time at hand
And when i write its not for spite but more for demand
Every second of my day my senses work so hard
And if i don't channel them my thoughts return charred
I seek not acclaim for what i write although i sometimes do
I write to heal the memories and pay respect where it's due
This site has been a sounding board for all who find their way
That stumble on this corner with words they'd like to say
Its always been an open forum to choose to read or not
Some people have a way with words others time forgot
Self expression has a way to mend what needs to mend
From the depths of despair your life may now transcend
Or is it that you are lonely and need to interact
Nobody has a preference or reasons to be exact
All I know is what i see and even more of what i read
There are many walks of life that write their own creed
I am grateful to mix words with all who express their ways
The pleasure is in the giving of the word and the phrase..........

Nice one Nu yes everyone here like to air their feelings whether it is well received or not its just a way for an outlet for them to release pent up emotions or add fun to the corner by challenges that keep the grey cells ticking.Thank you for sharing your thoughts that are well received.
I know just like many of us sometimes all the time you have is to write that poem, post it and if lucky with your time may read/comment on a poem or two.

Being you're wife, at first, I was very hurt when you hardly comment on my posts...it took a while for me to understand a poem has to touch your heart more than your mind because it is what you and the other poets feel inside that you want to share and relate to.

You seek no recognition or special attention. If you were in a crowd you'd rather blend in than be the star. You always try to keep to yourself and just happy to admire and watch the shining stars.
Common you think you are my dear...but in my eyes you are a shining star. Humility and respect for others are now two of the rarest attributes I see from a lot of people...that makes you a gem and therefore not so common in my eyes!
Your humility, your unassuming ways, the way you stay away from the politics of this site, the respect and admiration you give others whether you read or comment on their poetry or not, the respect and gratitude you have for this site because it is available and free to us... all live up to my own principles and convictions which are many and you know them all by heart. Thanks for sharing your thoughts... sorry this is rather late but between home, work, uni and community obligations... there's hardly time to spare
Some poems do demand to be written, don't they. Whereas The pleasure is in the giving of the word and the phrase.........., sharing requires an environment of trust built upon kindness and mutual respect. Poet's Corner is what we share in Common.......... May it continue to be a safe and welcoming place for poetry and the people who share it.
