Time To Give Up

Time to give up
The national debt is over 17 trillion
Drones are everywhere
The population of the world is over 7 billion people
Isis is winning
Ebola is running rampant
Bullies control our schools
Modern music sucks because of stolen music on the internet
People are going in debt over fancy gizmos, like cell phones
In spite of over 30 plus years of harping, Americans are fatter
Innocent people are jailed in mass
Robin Williams killed himself
I can name countless serial killers, but not one of their victims
An illegal alien has a better chance of getting a job than an American
The catholic church continues to protect p*dophile priests
Mechanics are legal crooks
So are politicians and cops
Electric cars are too expensive, even though they would make clean air
Fruits and vegetables are too expensive to eat
Pop and junk food are cheap(dollar menu at McDonald's)
Security Finance, Cash Call, Check Into Cash, can charge 312% interest
Most jobs pay crappy wages and have crappy working conditions

your poem title seems so fitting because it begs the question "what do we need give up in order to know a different reality in our world?"

Unfortunately, most of us do very little to effect positive change in our culture. I agree with beautifulyou…now that it's Time To Give Up, what are we willing to give up in order to experience better lives - for ourselves and others? One thing we should not give up on is education. Thank your for educating us on the pitfalls of being complacent in the face of serious challenges to our well-being.
