Sad to say most choose the gold over people. I read a story this morning about two men who went to Canada to find gold. The two found the gold and a lot of it. The one decided to kill the other to keep all the gold for himself, but once he killed his friend he fled to keep from being caught. Two Indians happened to witness the murder. They told their chief and he swore them to silence and they would be killed if they told anyone. He feared settlers would ruin his peaceful land. The word finally got out, but by then no one could find the gold, and those who tried met with misfortune and death. Happy Halloween!
