Bob had to leave It wasn't his choice He had to because the management didn't like him He knew his job He showed up every day He was fun to work with But they said he was over on his hours by three hours Why do the good workers get trashed And the bad workers stay forever I've seen it too many times that it makes you wonder Why does it seem that the bad people prosper Is it some kind of sick joke? I will miss Bob I'll miss his jokes I'll miss his company I'll have to go on work Monday without him Work has always sucked Maybe it's because people like Bob find some way of dissappearing

About this poem:
I'm happy for Bob because he doesn't have to endure that place any more. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself because once again I've lost a good coworker.
Hi, mcradloff, Although I don't understand the infraction of they said he was over on his hours by three hours, I am very much aware that often the "letter of the lay" but not the spirit of good business prevails. Management often struggles to be relevant in a profit-driven culture. Losing a good co-worker is never a good thing. Your poem conveys well the frustration and loss felt. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sad you lost your friend i hope you find a new one to lend a hand and journey across the sweet land.
gnj4u, thanks for your comment. We got a new worker to replace him. He said he wishes he was still working at a bakery where he made 17 bucks an hour. I told him with the bad raises given, it would take him many years to reach that wage here.
Leony1510, thanks for your comment. I hope the new guy works out, so far he has been good. I'm just grateful I get a break from the madness of that place over the Thanksgiving break.
I can relate to what you say in this poem, for I've been in Bob's place couple of times, and I sincerely do not know why bad people and unprofessionals are more acceptable for employers. It may be because bosses do not like employees with free spirit speaking their own mind around them, for them blind servitude and obedience are merits beyond any other. I've gone through Bob's troubles and felt all the injustice of it, but it's no surprise that I've been happy ever since: it is good riddance for Bob. I wish him good luck in finding a really, really good job with understanding boss and coworkers around. Thank you, mcradloff, for being such a kindhearted person and for sharing this poem with us!
