All that I want from you is smile

Oh, do I really want too much?
Tell, did for more I ever ask?
All that I want from you is smile,
All that I want from you is smile,
Tell, is it much, too much to ask?

I know my hair is showing white,
I know old age will soon arrive,
All that I want from you is smile,
All that I want from you is smile,
Tell, is it much, too much to ask?

It’s only you to me that's left,
Heart's aching for you’re far away,
It is torment, but there's no other way.
Know not from where my longing comes,
Know not why thirst for you is such.
Tell, what is it you want with me?
What is the wrong to you I've done?
Tell, what is it you want with me?
What is the wrong to you I've done?

Oh, do I really want too much?

Hi, marikia,
Tell, did for more I ever ask? Definitely a question that arises from the depths of the Blues. Thanks for sharing.

Your translation made me think deeply,
about,such a simple thing as a smile!

Thoughts that a tormented heart
might be cured by a wanted smile!

I'm ready for the cure! Lol

Good depth!

Sometimes it is too much to ask....nevertheless, it is a legitimate and even righteous desire....thanks for the translation. purple heart

This new format is displaying all the past
poems of us poets. I really like this. I get
a chance now to comment on so much
talent that may have slipped past me.
Here I present one of Marikia's wonderful
contributions.

"To those who venture."
Author, Marikia

A poem worthy of all my
loving admiration. She is
not merely the queen of
Tbilisi, but the queen of
Cafe Castle.

Those who venture into love must never regret what they are doing. To love somebody is never a waste of time: on the contrary, it is an enriching and purifying experience. By love I do not mean a traumatic obsession, bringing endless suffering to both sides when unrequited. And even if unrequited it remains what it is - it has never stopped being what it is. To truly love a person means being painfully ready to let him or her go should they wish so. Love is total selflessness and when requited - absolute bliss!
Thank you, Cafe, for bringing this poem to light again.bouquet
