To that High Road

To that high road, that highway crossing
No longer must I go, no need to rush.
Without love life may be easy,
But how without love should one survive?!

And even if your love deceives you,
Even if your love proves waste of time,
Even if your love turns into sadness,
Tell, how without love should one survive?!

I shouldn’t have tried for many years,
Towards love I’ve hastened steps in vain,
I wouldn’t have fallen prey, shed all the tears,
But how without love should one survive?!

Oh where should I hide from all those years?!
Wish I befriended every blade of grass,
It’s in this place I’ve left my heart, it’s here,
For how without love should it survive?!

About this poem:
There’s no survival without love, none!
From the old Soviet movie “A Simple Story” ("Prostaya istorya").
Another translation. Thank you, dear poets, for supporting my efforts in such a great way!!!
