I died the other day Love overwhelmed me It left me in that place Called “Unconditional” It tore away at my soul Broke down all my barriers And assaulted my senses
I died the other day Passion overcame me It took me to that place Lovers call “Heaven” I became swamped In sensations Untold and unfound It broke through my core And brought a crescendo Of delight That exploded In every corner of my mind
I died the other day Desire conquered me Clean through the heart With the arrow Marked “Fate” It took away my breath Boiled my very blood And stole all my emotions It left me in that place Between reality and sublime Called “Ecstasy” It was a glorious death
It was 'glorious' indeed, and I would use 'was revived' instead of 'died' ('I was revived the other day') cause this is what actually happened, and I am so happy for you! You did a great job with this poem by making us feel the richness of emotion that overwhelmed you, and for this reason I would call it a masterpiece. Thank you for sharing, dear poet!
Bobby when love overcomes us, we do feel assaulted in implosion and explosive force like a dynamite that shreds us to pieces. A most compelling feeling that never goes away after that.
