The Two of You

Embedded image from another site

So often there seems to be
the two of you
one who is scared of love
one who's heart is true...

I see the two of you
I try and make room
no matter what they say or do
sometimes wanting to split them in two...

When you lashed out at me
I felt like an abandoned child
the medicine will set you free
and return again your smile...

I love the two of you
sometimes the light escapes and dims
our love and faith will get us through
the one of me and the two of you...

Never been much for wearing masks. I guess that's why I hate it when I feel I have to, like at work. You have to pretend to like others who you really abhor, so I can relate to anxiety and depression around people. doh

With these simple words you've said it all, so true and so painful at times. Beautiful poem thank you.
