Mokhevis qalo

Mokhevis qalo, Tina girl,
Mokhevis qalo, Tina girl.
Why cling to mother, stay in home?!
Why cling to mother, stay in home?!

Girlfriends have married long ago,
Girlfriends have married long ago.
Why do you stay, tell, what is wrong?!
Why do you stay, tell, what is wrong?!

Hey, gidi, lassie, Tina girl,
Hey, gidi, lassie, Tina girl.
Pretty you are, can’t tell in words,
Pretty you are, can’t tell in words.

Wonder whose luck's to be your choice,
Wonder whose luck's to be your choice.
Whose life your love will fill with joy?!
Whose life your love will fill with joy?!

Mokhevis qalo, Tina girl,
Mokhevis qalo, Tina girl.
Wonder what’s it that holds you on,
Wonder what’s it that holds you on.

Mokhevis lad keeps calling on,
Mokhevis lad keeps calling on.
Asking for hand to take you home.
Asking for hand to take you home.

Asking for hand to take you home,
Asking for hand to take you home.

About this poem:
A folk song Mokhevis qalo Tinao (Tina - a girl from Khevi), often sung at festive tables in a company of good wine and friends.

Dimpitauri, dampitauri - imitation of sounds emitted by a drum.

Mokhevis qali (bichi) - a lassie (lad) coming from Georgia's historical region Khevi:

I have attached above two videos (in the first one the song is sung in Georgian by Kâzim Koyuncu who was a Laz singer-songwriter and activist. Koyuncu recorded songs in a number of languages spoken along the northeastern Black Sea coast of Turkey, as well as the language of Laz. (Wikipedia) Born: November 7, 1971 in Hopa, Turkey,
died: June 25, 2005 in Istanbul, Turkey), in the second - the song is arranged and sung also in Georgian by an American band (the 2nd video is shot both in America and Georgia)). Hope, you will enjoy both.
