Mirror - Mirror what do you see
Other than a reflection of me
Do you see all of my sorrows
Or the future of all my tomorrows
The sadness that lurks behind the eyes
The happenings that have made me wise
Lost loves that pains to remember
Or new loves lighting my eyes with ember
Wishful thinking of a permanent love
With hopes of help from above
Lines worn deep from age
Each one telling its tale of sage
Do you see the ravages of starkness
Caused by exposure to others darkness
Hoping for more light to shine through
And that special love meant for two

Thanks for posting this fine piece of retrospection and prospection
viewed in your magical mirror.
Hoping for more light to shine through
And that special love meant for two
Hope you find that special love.
When I read your poem, the words of this song by Mary Hopkin came back to me:
"Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
La la la la..."

I don't think I was even on CS when you wrote this...so glad that someone brought it back.
Funny ( really not so)...how the mirror can pose as our friend of our enemy.

You have outdone your self
