In my life lots of empty space
Forever missing that loving face
Empty spaces for the last seven years
Making for lots and lots of tears
In the car with an empty passenger seat
Always makes me want to weep
Looking at empty dining room chair
No longer seem able to eat there
Big piece missing in my heart
Memories seem never too far
Going everywhere all alone
Then returning to an empty home

But I always believe there is
Healing in poetic memories.

Missing my mother
Author: marikia
As I dreamed last night in my sleep
Mother woke me up with a grin.
Took my hands in hers and then spoke,
Do not shed your tears, cause you'll know.
Do not drink of grief, drink of joy,
Do not miss what was, cause it's gone,
Do not think you're right, don't blame life,
Do not hurt yourself with your pride.
Life's much simpler, girl, let it pass,
Do not frighten fate, she's not shy,
You will make it up in the end,
Don't you know, she's right and you err?
Follow my advice, spoil not game,
All the good you've done will prove vain,
So I'm telling you - make amends,
Saying this she squeezed both my hands.
She is gone, I'm left all confused and broke.
Tell me, mum, what's wrong with my soul?
Many thanks, dear poetess, for sharing this poem! Kindest regards!
