EMPTY SPACE

In my life lots of empty space
Forever missing that loving face
Empty spaces for the last seven years
Making for lots and lots of tears

In the car with an empty passenger seat
Always makes me want to weep
Looking at empty dining room chair
No longer seem able to eat there

Big piece missing in my heart
Memories seem never too far
Going everywhere all alone
Then returning to an empty home

I still have my parents around, though visiting them pains me as my dad and great nephew are mean. I wish I could visit my mom without his painful jabs at her and everyone else and my great nephew punching them all the time.dunno heart wings

Thanks Laura. I'm okay - just the 7th Anniversary of Mom's death this coming Wednesday - from July 17th - August 5th she was in the hospital and I just kind of relive those horrible 2 weeks of her suffering during these 2 1/2 weeks of the year. But it is getting better.

The parent bond and the comfort that was created leaves a void when they pass on. That is why life after death gives such hope to those who believe!
Death is the final part of life , the real living just started ! Thanks for your touching thoughts.!

Thank you Rusticbink for understanding. You are right - just the beginning of a new life. Thank you for your kind words.

I don't think life is ever the same when our mothers leave us, because no one will ever take their place. Nicely written GP.hug

I miss my parents too, it can't be otherwise, no day passes without thinking about them. Once it hurt, then the pain slowly subsided, as it should with time, now thinking about them brings only sweet memories mingled with hope that perhaps in the afterlife we are all coming and staying together for ever. I remember once writing a poem dedicated to Mother:

Missing my mother
Author: marikia

As I dreamed last night in my sleep
Mother woke me up with a grin.
Took my hands in hers and then spoke,
Do not shed your tears, cause you'll know.
Do not drink of grief, drink of joy,
Do not miss what was, cause it's gone,
Do not think you're right, don't blame life,
Do not hurt yourself with your pride.
Life's much simpler, girl, let it pass,
Do not frighten fate, she's not shy,
You will make it up in the end,
Don't you know, she's right and you err?
Follow my advice, spoil not game,
All the good you've done will prove vain,
So I'm telling you - make amends,
Saying this she squeezed both my hands.
She is gone, I'm left all confused and broke.
Tell me, mum, what's wrong with my soul?

Many thanks, dear poetess, for sharing this poem! Kindest regards!bouquet

Thank you Paloma. I lived with her all my life until she passed away. So there is a very big empty space in my life. Thanks for understanding.
