No one breaks the silence On this earth of ours Some talk Then go And leave you bewildered As to what you are to do The heart reaches out in the air Only to find the silence The world hates you But you still offer it love Despite it's ignorance And endless quiet
Silence in a crowded room Of hubbub All speak but say nothing No disclosure Only schemes And everyone Figuring the angles
The great silence Causes all the heartache The disease And the wars
All for unreachable perfection The ideal mate Yet you started the conversation Too late Because I had already gone

About this poem:
hOW PEOPLE TALK AND YET SAY NOTHING...HOW IGNORANCE AND EGOTISM 'ME.ME.ME' IS ALL-PERVASIVE ON OUR PLANET...AND HOW WE ARE DOOMED TO ETERNAL SILENCE IF WE DON'T BREAK THIS HELLISH 'SOUND OF SILENCE'
Reminds me of Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel. "Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again. People talking without speaking, people hearing without listening, no one dared, disturb the sound of silence."
