Starborn

From the moment you were born...
I sensed your presence.
Your soul slipped...
And escaped my clutch.
The lost look on...
Without hope...
But for you,
I have made an exception....

I would pull all of the stars out of the sky...
And hold them in the palm of my hand...
Just to see your face...
And if the light is too bright, I would gladly go blind...
Just to feel your grace...

I know you...
I have always known you...
I love you...
I have always loved you...
You are my beautiful everlasting star....

This just shows how long I've been away; only came across this now. You're an excellent poet, a wordsmith as one of us mentioned above. Your words tells me of a love so unconditional...and as far as I am concerned, nothing more unconditional than His. So being a Christian my dear old friend Christian (pardon the pun) I read this maybe a tad differently. I love every line for it speaks to me:

"From the moment you were born...
I sensed your presence.
Your soul slipped...
And escaped my clutch.
The lost look on...
Without hope...
But for you,
I have made an exception...."

You are to Him... beautiful... everlasting... star! It reminds me of a song: I'm a star in God's eyes; that's the best I can be. I'm a star in God's eyes, and I know that He loves me.
