The blind Boy

A man an ordinary man
Looks out at the wonders of the world
He sees only horrors and decay
Miss use guided by greed’s evil hands

He hears a voice
A tug to his hand
He looks down with a smile
Small fingers grip his hand and together they stand

What do you see Daddy
What do see
Please tell what do you see
Is there a beautiful world surrounding me

The man pauses
Then he speaks
Ever so slowly so voice does not break

Yes son it is beautiful
Full of magic and laughter and fun
It is magical from the moon to the rising of the sun
Tell me more of what you can see
Please daddy open the world to me

The man looks out to oceans vast
He can see the oil spills
The strain of industry cast
The extinction of species symbols of inglorious past

What do I smell daddy please tell me
Take a deep breath my son
You’re at the oceans edge let fresh air fill your lungs
What is that warmth I feel on my face
That is sun it glistens across the ocean like a mighty sword
Like it is getting ready for king to take his place

A man stands in a war-torn land
Gun fire rings out bombs shake the ground
What is that should I be afraid
No my son he answers that is just the angels playing a game

Dad why is it that I cannot see
It is because god does not like me
No no son you are special in very way

Is it raining dad I feel a drop of water hit my hand
Now my son it is time to sleep
In your mind count your sheep
Remember your surrounded by a world so beautiful and grand
