He stood proud and strong this monument of a bygone man. His helmet glistened shield and staff held high. But I heard his cry "pigeons be gone your shit is eroding my metal."
"Silly monument, I said in my head. Bygone men were real made of stronger steel. The shit they had to bare certainly did not scare.
They survive through you. So cut the crap, for now, it's raining the shit away.
Excellent poems..your moving has opened another door. Enjoying your sharing your personal insight behind your writing. You've conjured up wonderfully visual poems.

godsprincess that is very true but a utopia will never excist, and I hate to hear folk complaining when proud monuments stand from brave brave men. thanks for reading and comment.
I'm not against monuments - in fact my poem "The Tale of 2 Rails" is based on a 9/11 monument in the park of my home town. I'm just saying - it's too bad we have to have brave men go to war.

Kathy that is so true, it was just a poem jumped into my head for todays world everyone seems to be complaining about the slightest thing. You come across a monument with names of brave men who suffered and bore so much and I thought what the heck are they complaining about.
