it is what you make of it. i have learned a lot about myself here and it has been a place of healing. i like that no one knows me so i am free to say anything without fear.

eejay, hows it going? Don't forget, romance can be found, at the bus stop, or on a train, etc. Just talk to the girl next to you. Why confine yourself to the virtual World? Just saying. At least you can see what you might be getting! This may seem like a radical concept, in today's online World; however, wasn't this the way it was done in the old days?. As for CS, it's a great site because it's free and genuinely global. Many different people here; there is likely someone for you. Also very good for writing, and blogging, for allowing us writers to reach a wide audience, not just the elites (or literati). I know, and I must thank, CS, for getting me started, and writing, in an organized way; whereas, before, I'd lost all hope...

Thank you K_Ann_70, lovecanbereal. It's nice to hear from you guys; you've given thoughtful replies, so thank you.
I don't know that I'm looking for romance here. Not sure I know what it is. But one thing a place like this offers that "the real world" does not is to get to know someone, or they you, by words and thoughts alone. There is no pressure or physical and perhaps less emotional things involved.

freehand, I'm sorry, I didn't see your comment before when I replied.
What kind of things do you learn about yourself? I think I can understand the anonymity; I have not shared any photos yet or revealed much personal detail. . .maybe it's something like by trying to be myself in this way I can learn about it. But it's also interesting to talk to people without being around them.
I don't understand why you have a waiting period when signing up - I don't remember having a waiting period. Maybe I just forgot.

godsprincess, all I know is that when I signed up a week ago, the only part of the site that would allow me to comment or post was the poetry section. Other sections say you must be a member seven days.
K_Ann, I do agree with you, though I suppose it's difficult for us to understand what the world looks like to these kids. In some ways they seem at the same time much more and much less mature. It's very strange.
