It can come very easy to smile when all is well But harder to do and more thoughtful, when one has a sad tale they could tell.
To share yours with another, no matter, what is what. Can brighten up their day and to them mean such a lot To the stranger that passes who may be bereft, live alone. To the one who may be feeling lonely, forgotten or burdened but doesn’t want to speak, to share or to moan.
A little smile that says hello Can warm anothers heart, speak volumes in the silence Say I care, and mean more to them than you may ever know.
What better time can there be but now to show we care..and a little smile can be how

About this poem:
There is a saying that a day is worthwhile when you make someone smile...I agree :)
Thought I would repost this...noticed more people saying hi by sharing a smile of late ..little things mean so much to so many of us right now !
So true - sharing a smile with someone - even a stranger can make the rest of their day a little more tolerable or a lot better. Thanks for bringing this to light.
Happy, a very thoughtful write. It is very simple in the objective and yet it is what we most need when we are not in the up and up. A very positive write. What we all need, what the world needs and what humanity needs.
Positivity in a world that is constantly attacked by Terror Happy. We need it to create balance so that we can continue our battle to make a better world.
Hi, Happychatty1, What better time can there be but now to show we care..and a little smile can be how In these challenging days of physical-distancing, it can take a long time for A Smile to rise to the top and its hopefulness be recognized. I'm glad I was here to catch a glimpse of yours. Thank you for sharing A little smile that says hello.

Hi Mick Thank you for you compliment re this poem and also your comment with regards to us wearing masks and therefore not seeing each other smile as much. Some people smile with there eyes too but of course from a distance that isn’t so noticeable and for that reason I have found myself saying hi more or nodding my head as a gesture to make up for the mask. Also been made more aware of how much other people have also said good morning, good afternoon which is lovely and takes me back to my childhood when people did greet each other that way especially our elders. And people I do get into conversation with are making more eye contact which is interesting. So I guess until we can all openly share a smile again nodding may suffice Belated happy new year to you and yours and all the other poets
