WHEN I WAS YOUNG
In my quietest moments,
My deepest longing to forget,
Yet for all my earnest longing,
Memories haven't faded quite yet,
But with strength of pure will,
I push on forward still,
I keep reaching high above,
Seeking forgiveness and love,
Was a time when I was young,
Before I knew any real truth,
That what I longed so deeply for,
May never, ever take root,
But as Summer turned to Fall,
And the sun's light forshortened,
After long cold Winter days,
Spring arrived with grand importance,
And with the Love of God's Will,
I push on stronger still,
I finally reached high enough above,
To lay hold of my Saviour's ever-lasting Love,
Was a time when I was young,
Before I knew any real truth,
What I'd so deeply longed for,
One Glorious Day would take root,
So reach out to Him,
From deep depths of despair,
God will always be waiting,
With open arms, tender mercies, loving care.

About this poem:
On October 7, 2017, my 85yr old father murdered my older brother's wife then killed himself. Its been extremely difficult to find forgiveness for him. But seasons have changed. And it's getting very close to Spring. All happiness is on the verge of full bloom.
