On the wings of a butterfly.
I saw a butterfly today. It was a beauty of creation,
With golden wings and polka dots
All spattered, mirror image.
It did not stay, but bid me say 'farewell my fluttering beauty'.
It's been a while, since I saw one
Nigh well for near ten years.
And as with this experience, adieu as well to our years,
For time flies out of one's window
Through laughter, love and tears.
So goodbye my golden belle, go fulfill the Almighty's plan,
For though you're a little insect,
You too are in good hands.
We are all a fluttering butterfly, faltering in the winds of time.
Only deeds will be remembered,
Nothing else what I call mine.
And I saw a butterfly today....

About this poem:I just had the uncomfortable thought that I hadn't seen a butterfly in a long long time, and I felt sad.
