Hollow den

by Wayne Palesado

Traveling to the dwelling of solitude.
Witness to the urban lions within their territories
Falling in the clutches of envy of the social animal gathering.
Time spent in fantasy is an addiction within the disenchantment.
Vocal devices fall silent as the door opens to the dark chamber.
Years have multiplied in these barren halls of the soulless.
Floors tear soaked as one hears the laughter outside this lone chamber.
The unchanging scenery has grown tiresome
Yet a comfort none the less of familiarity.
Formulate activities to distract from the clock's movement.
Still the sting of the hours feeds the inner torment.
The search to unlock this imprisonment.
Celebrations attended was your attempted escape.
Yet the dark chamber lingers within.

Wow thank you for that comment. I was not expecting such a grand praise coming from a established writer like yourself. That means a lot to me. Plus your my first comment ever when it comes to my poems. I'll take a look to see what you have posted and lets be pen pals. I would love to hear your insights.
