November’s Rain

In the stillness of my decay
What is left of yesterday
Things that won’t fade away
The last of those sunny days
Turning slowly into grey

In the night of my loneliness
Moonlight shares a sweet caress
Once was life is emptiness
The nest in the meadow cress
Empty now and in distress

In the gloom of a dreary day
In the drench of soaking spray
Puddles my thoughts in clay
The lake that surrounds the quay
Solemn I am its tranquil bay

In the silence of the past
A question I could have asked
A memory that also passed
But one I still holdfast
One that will always last

In the stillness of my decay
What is left of yesterday
Things that won’t fade away
The last of those sunny days
Turning slowly into grey

enjoyed reading your poem, felt the depth of loneliness, in it too.

I enjoy changing seasons as do i walking the path of life, changes there too.

I send a sunshine smile it reflects bouncing off rain droplets
