You can be alone but not lonely
You can be lonely but not alone
Being both is not a fun place to be
I know because been there you see
There are days that the pain is deep
Wanting something that I can’t see
Wondering just what it would take
To rid this feeling when I’m awake
I can be in a crowd of people all day
But the feeling never goes away
Or I can be walking alone in the rain
My thoughts full of sorrow and pain
Either way at times life can be hard
The pain causing invisible scars
Others don’t see or able to understand
So I smile at them and pretend life is grand

Sadly too many people will be able to relate to how deep the pain of loneliness and being alone can feel
Thanks for sharing this poem

Your understanding and beautifully written words ~ took me by the hand ~ and led me back to that time in my life.

You have brought out
What's buried inside me for so long
I am born without siblings
Loneliness and alone
Are with me
Time at home is at peace
Where my mom cover those gaps
Thats where my inspiration for my poem
'My Room' came
Thank you for showing the world
What others brush it off as nonsense
