bother

a knock at her door
she opens, please come in
I expected you, a week ago
now where the hell you been?
you said that you loved me only
and you left me here, so lonely
you turned your back on me
you're not the man, I hoped you'd be

he said, girl, how can I know what to expect from you?
last time together, you made it clear, that we were through
and now you act, like I should be here
and, I find it all so queer
when I wanted you, you drove me fast away
so it's maddening to hear you calmly say

'let's live the plans, that we made together
to walk beside, no matter the weather
to hold our hands, a smile on our face
no matter the time, no matter the place'

think that now, I'll walk back out that door
I really don't know, what it is, I came here for
guess I just had to see your face
but now realize, this ain't the place
for me, to be, happy and free
sorry I bothered you, sorry you bothered me
