Yesterday

Yesterday after the snow fell
The sun came out
Late in the afternoon glow
Shined onto my face
Weathered by time
Reddened by cold
Stared blankly back
Happy to feel your presence
I will watch as you circle
All around the horizon
I will watch where you rise
Remembering such times
From many years ago
Remembering in each season
When the shadows pointed
The same way all in a row
I will watch as you set
And remember which tree
On the distance shoreline
That you torched on fire
The way you did yesterday

Beautiful words to describe nature's wonders. Being able to capture all these moments and reflect it in writing is your gifted talent. Enjoyed it. SMwave

Love those sunsets in my area - sunrise - well - I'm a night owl so do not see too many sunrises. But the sunsets are gorgeous in my area.

Happy,

It the middle of winter here the sun never really rises very high and stays well to the south. daisy

Salamuna and Red.... Thank you. The sun sets over islands in a lake and distant shoreline here, very beautiful and blazing colors.

It is challenging sometimes to say in as few words something that's a bigger meaning....which it what I try when I write poetry.

Thanks!! '

Sun rarely visits in the middle of winter, and sunset after snow falls is a special treat, thank you for taking a notice Yankee!

Yes That's true. It's much richer palette of colors in winter, softer and not as bold, pinkish at times almost magnolia.

Yo Yankee you can have the sun
Its blazing hot ..humid 90% of the year
I'll trade places where there are plenty
Of rain
Love your poem but not the sun
