PURE SURVIVAL

The wind it blew with spite
As the bird tried to end it's flight

The landing was against all odds
As branches were whipped and flogged

I watched as the bird was swept up high
I could hear it's pitiful cries

Nature can be cruel too, I knew
I saw his struggle but straight down he flew

Flapping his wings in a flurry
Feathers flying, he was in a hurry

Watching the winds gusts calmed
My little friend landed with no harm

Sheltering under the great oaks strength
Safe, I sighed and moved off my bench

Hi, EXRED,
Sometimes, when The landing was against all odds, the only thing that gets one safely onto that branch is the flapping of PURE SURVIVAL. Thanks for sharing this poetic vision of hope.
