Sorry About Your Wait

The wind blew a letter it landed in my hands
I'll tell you what it said though I don't understand
Just a few words sorry about your wait
I looked and looked but there was no reunion date

Suddenly it slipped through my fingers
The wind carried it far away
So I continued to walk along
It was in the evening of the day

When I made it home there on the front porch swing
Was it just an act of fate
It seemed to me the funniest thing
When I sat down to read sorry about your wait
