Touch of Autumn

They're raking the tide
down on Autumn drive
men in the cool last light of Summer

They're burning the leaves
beneath the trees
the seasons spirit released

In Winter we shall find new desire
hidden beneath the deepest covers
and Spring shall rise to kiss the Earth again

Well Spring is supposedly here in New York State! But guess what? There is snow in the air here today with my Daffodils and Hyacinths blooming and my Bleeding Heart Bush coming up! Sigh! I'm beginning to think we will go from winter back into winter again. So discouraging.

Ah you will have Spring soon enough for sure Kathy, we have had an amazing Summer, so long and dry, but oh the watering of plants, hours of work. Enjoy what's coming!comfort

I do perennials which usually blossom early in the spring/summer and rest during the hot summer months. I only plant a few annuals and mostly in pots which are easier to water. Also you can move pots around if too much sun or too much shade or not enough, etc. Wet snow/rain again today - even NOAA weather says its late in the season for New York State. Oh no! There is no Climate Change. Oh No - there is no Global Warming Mr. President!roll eyes

I liked that poem even though we are in spring yet , still Autumn plans for new growth ready for Spring again.

Oceanzest…..yes, chilly nights and even cooler mornings, and leaves scattered everywhere as I try to enjoy the short spell of warm weather in the middle of each day as I wait the forever rain....lovely poem...….Kathywave
