Gathering here for one last time. Of laughing, singing just like before. Remembering when we had so much time Enjoying life and friends once more.
We could not stop the seasons passing As we held tight to days gone by Filled with new friends and tender feelings We loved and laughed and we did cry.
We knew that seasons always end We felt the change yet carried on Having to say goodbye to friends We grieved the day that you’d be gone
Through all those times both good and bad We stood tall for those in need Always strong for the friends we had Were we those friends in dire need?
The day has come for you to leave To that place that you did know To begin a journey where you will weave New and old memories as you grow.
So as you fly along life’s winding road Making new memories and new friends Do not forget the path once rode When your road at last does end.
Forever your friend

About this poem:
During my time with a lady I dated for a while I became part a her core group of friends. When she decided to move away we gathered to say our farewells. This is how I said mine.
I love to travel, and have been all around the world.
The only part I don't like, is having to say good bye to friends who I will never see again. But I have learned that a firm handshake, a strong embrace, and a smile, is the best way to say goodbye.
