What is simple anymore Long paddles down rocky shorelines Light winds and little waves Cedar roots clinging to life Struggling to survive Solitude and nature Strength and struggles Clinging to life, clinging to hope A piece of bone or pottery Long discarded A long time ago Washed smooth A once jagged edge Worn down by time Resting in the sand

About this poem:
Sharing the adventures of a kayak journey along a beautiful lakeshore.
I love retirement and my trips into nature on my walks. After working stressful jobs for the County for 34 years - I enjoy my little daily trips even more.
Having a sail along a shoreline to relax is great .Your mind wonders also, nature keeps our memories popping up. Nice melancholy thoughts. Thanks for sharing. SM
l love this. A family member was telling me about a boat I should look into with a motor I don't believe they get it. Understand the slow peaceful journey of kayaking. I also like to look for things that have washed up on the shores. Some I take (not many) some I leave for another to pick up and enjoy its beauty. As you said usually it is a piece of this and a piece of that.
