Old were the bones Found washed up On the shore Lost in the sea Many years ago Long after was life Was empty of light Buried under sand No longer cold As the deep sea Now basking in the sun Lying on the beach Next to me once more

About this poem:

Magical thoughts....my mind drifted to a ship returning to China that was scuttled on the bar at the entrance to the Hokianga Harbour...and after so many years, focus is on returning the lost souls to thier homeland. Great write...enjoyed reading and sharing....Kathy NZ
