Summer is over, yet hope is still on!

I am staring in silently the distance,
Listening to the crickets in the grass.
Watching the orange sun die in the West,
Enjoying the last of summer days in its best.

Fireflies untamed in the wind are dancing,
The smell of barbecues the air enhancing.
The sweltering heat has tanned my skin,
The thought of water parks make me grin.

In the still of the hot summer evening,
Retiring to the shade of a nearby tree.
Last days of summer, same beginning,
Watching the time moving in fall free.

This summer has gone by so very fast.
I wish I could somehow make it last.
Hard to put this year in the past yet,
For my hope and vision has not yet met.

All those days, nights, wasted and spent,
Wish was there someone to hold my hand.
Spending night alone is not so much fun,
Days no pair of eyes to see but the hot sun.

So, to the last of summer days I hope,
Someone to enter my life in full scope.
Together creating the magic of love,
As the fall is near and ready to start.
