Despot Downs

When the axe came into the forest the trees said at least the handle is one of us
- Turkish Proverb

cartridge cases
jungle towns
all quiet the night
down in Despot Downs

junta junta
retort's out of bounds
camo couture
down in Despot Downs

insurgent fervour
vicious hounds
care where you step
down in Despot Downs

Oceansest what I interpret of this writing is what governments are doing over this pandemic. Countries are suffering differently; with lockdowns, SWAT-team raids, massive surveillance, and forced or not vaccinations. Even the new Leaders getting to power are jeopardizing our freedoms.
I hope your situation has not affected you so much my dear poet. Thanks for sharing. SM
