How Tender Is Thy Mercy

So tender is Thy mercy
Where forgiveness
Triumphs over blame
And righteousness.

So tender is Thy mercy
That heals a bleeding
Heart once wounded
To Love again

So tender is Thy mercy
Where nothing can
Divide or Conquer
The quest for truth

So tender is Thy mercy
When our spirits
Delight in life
Are set free to love

So tender is Thy mercy
Where no chains
Can hold back
Our freedom to love

So tender is Thy love
When truth once more
Forms the bedrock
Of our freedom

So tender is Thy love
When forgiveness
Triumphs over blame
And righteousness

Tender indeed is this poem but mercy conquers it all. Enjoyed. SM

Lily, It's a funny thing (observation) I don't read or write much poetry about spiritual things, however 'spirituality' really is at the heart of most poetry. wave

Thanks Mick ! It's always an inspiration to read Irish writers and poets. People of great faith ! angel

SM That's right it does. Too often in life we hide behind the 'cloak of indifference' to other people's pain and suffering. Faith teaches us to begin to care and when we begin to care about others it helps to discover mercy. hug
