Late winter dusk

Late winter dusk looming
Birds silent
Silence indeed
is the dominant sound

Except for my constant
tinnitus ringing buzzing
summer cicadas in either ear
In China's summer
I always hear their chirring

Yet despite the buzz
I still can hear well enough
to chat and teach and
Helen Keller was yesterday

About this poem:
Just an amazingly mild silent winter's disk. No distant shriek of flying fox, no kookaburras proclaiming ownership.
