I wish

I wish I were standing there again
and you by your car
that you then knew how I loved you
But I wouldn't wish
for any change you know
Loving you just like this
is enough for a life.

How I wish that first day
Could come again
and I could tell you
How I felt as you drove
Like a maniac
hunched over the wheel
While I silently laughed

Since then we have met on occasion
But love each other from afar
Far from perfect
But perfect enough.
