Little Bird

Little bird,
from this mighty tree.
got to close to the edge,
And fallen on me.

At firs I thought,
I was being attacked.
I got distraught,
and I think I cracked.

I reached over my head.
And I grabbed the thing.
Before it knew to of fled,
I just gave it a fling.

It layed on the ground.
Didn't move,
or make a sound.
All hope it would of improved,
were abound.
But that feeling was removed,
when brain matter was found.
to me that would of only proved...
Oh woe is me,
I've killed a creature.
Hope my kid didn't see.
This is something,
I didn't want to teach her.

I sob and I cry,
over the bird on the ground.
As I plead why?
I hear a sound.

A ruffle, a tweet.
The bird rises from where he lays.
I shuffle, I'm at the edge of my seat.
And the bird flies away.

startled the shit out of me.
I reach out, grabed it... kidding...
