You dont have to become hard,
quit deodorant , shun perfume & the razor
in order to be strong...
All that lingering bitterness
can never right the past wrong ...
To create a distorted reality
of how super you are, though
wont help you through the test of time in length ...
Got to stay grounded , be genuine to yourself
because who you truly are
is your precious invincible wealth ...
You say you want this and that
but dont need any of it ...
That's just a hypocritical argument
that easily falls flat ....
You just can't bring yourself
to be honest and admit .

What's wrong with being human, vulnerable ...
have needs still unfulfilled , but more than able ...
As long as you remain standing ... productive...
creative ... and still willing to dare
As long as you know
of the things to beware ...
Time goes mercilessly forward
and we all grow older ...
But quite pathetic to age embittered,
alone & lonely but in denial ...
A huge boulder for a chip on the shoulder...
Not willing to recognize & embrace
that which is vital ...
one's vulnerability and being perfectly imperfect .
No rocket science, really .. though in many cases,
for them, seem like a wellkept secret ...

You cant invite in love, contentment,
and overall happiness
if you face these with fangs and claws all bare ...
You've got to simply open up enough,
without keeping a tight tally when time to share ...
And that genuine beauty from the heart
on the outside of your being, to show & wear ...
