It is written that the Lord sends the rain to fall on the ‘just’ and the ‘unjust’. But I like the rain, regardless. I like the rain because it cools the earth and makes the world seem clean again; If only for a brief moment. I like the rain because It reminds me of the tears that I shed when the pains of life overwhelm me, and the joy of the Lord becomes my remedy. I like the rain because there is always a beautiful, brightly-coloured rainbow in its wake that lights up the sky, and makes me smile with awe. I like the rain because It signals that whether I’m ‘just’ or ‘unjust’, God still cares for me, provides for me, loves me, and needs me to do His Will. Thank God for the rain.
Beautiful poem Didi. God gave us Nature to bring us joy in times of sorrow too. I once saw a double rainbow outside my workplace. It was so astonishing that many came out to view it...SM
