Petrichor

Lightning striking
thunder roars
and oh the rain!
how it did pour
then afterwards the petrichor
the sweet scented smell of a summer storm...

I love the rain, and can relate to the smell it causes dry hot surfaces (like tar/asphalt and mud) to give off. You described it so well...smile
