Loneliness

Maybe I was meant to walk alone
But what of the loneliness in my heart?
When I close my door from the world,
The silence can be deafening.
Living without touch, laughter, hugs.
My strength waivers walking alone,
Surely this is not all there is?

About this poem:
Maybe there are a lot of us feeling this way on occasion. Doesn’t mean I want a man to rescue me, but a real life person who wants a partner too.

These words resonate with me, SoulfulLynn. Even though I'm still hopeful, I too wonder whether "this" is all there is... Hopefully NOT!teddybear

Surrounded and yet alone among faces of many shapes and tone
Empty fake smiles that hide the miles
All claim their unique style

Yet, how do we measure their treasure within their heart when most are broken apart? professor
