I’m not ready…yet.
Betwixt and between,
The future – unseen –
I dare not believe it could be.
Should I go, should I stay?
Not sure what to say.
He doesn’t know aught about me.
I do, and I don’t,
I will, but I won’t.
What shall become of me then?
There’s no use denying;
I’d only be lying
If I said I was ready again.
I‘m good on my own.
But to not be alone
Would be my ideal remedy.
A friend who’s just right
Would be a delight.
But my wavering mind foils me.

I’ve just got out of a 34 yr marriage, and I’m desperately lonely, hence joining this site, but the thought of actually meeting or even contacting someone gives me the shakes,
I know at my age time is not on my side, but I’m struggling to move on, the poem echoes my feelings perfectly, thanks didi7.
