Nothing seems to be

Nothing seems to be what we see
Everything and everyone full of deceit and ambiguity

Hiding who we are wishing upon a star where lies become truth if preached long enough without the proof

Yet we can only go just so far
in hiding our emotional scars

Sooner or later the truth is revealed no matter how tightly
we keep it sealed

To be misled by a harlot dripping in scarlet read between her lines and see the hidden signs.

Nothing seems real anymore and it has caused many hearts to sore
How we can get so easily caught up in its allure sometimes the pain to hold on we cannot endure

Yet, foolishly we keep trudging on waiting for love to touch us in the dawn
Hoping for the light will show us the way to a hopeful day

Yet, sometimes the pain is just too much so we put our heart upon an old dusty hutch

For its better to tuck our feelings deep within than to let the pain become our sin.

There comes a time to stop the insanity rather than maintain our vanity

After awhile you learn who your friends really are as you keep patching up your scar

How we want to learn to love and trust again but, it seems there is always a price to pay in

After awhile we have to stop before we are left with nothing more to give to help another to live
